CONNECTING THE DOTS : COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITIES

As India celebrates the AAZADI KA AMRUT MAHOTSAVA, which marks the 75th year of independence, massive efforts are being put up by the Indian Government into highlighting the achievements, hard work, innovation and enterprise of ordinary Indians, across the spectrum. Amongst the five major themes under AAZADI KA AMRUT MAHOTSAVA, Actions@75, is a theme that aims to highlight steps being taken to fulfill the commitments made to the poor and marginalized sections of the society. This is where pledges from corporations, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), and civil society are relevant, as they help in realizing the ideals and also `work together to build a better tomorrow.’

The Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), over decades, have been an integral part of development efforts in the country, indefatigably serving as the crucial interface between the government and the community on one hand; as also the corporates and the community on the other. Their extensive contribution in defining development goals and executing projects of far-reaching socio-economic impact has resulted in several communities getting freedom from poverty. As we celebrate AAZADI KA AMRUT MAHOTSAVA this year, it’s a good time to recognise the incredible contribution that NGOs have made in ameliorating the plight of the poor.

To celebrate the phenomenal contribution of NGOs in building an equitable and inclusive India, ACCESS Development Services is felicitating NGOs – that have completed over 25 years in enabling economic empowerment of communities – as DEVELOPMENT CATALYSTS 2022.
